WILD CAMPING PALADINI
is a welcoming space created by an international community of volunteers with a view to having minimum impact on the environment.
Situated in an ancient chestnut grove on a medieval track between the villages of Chiozza and Castiglione di Garfagnana.
Paladini is an oasis of calm where you will feel welcome, included and relaxed for the duration of your stay.
Your Host
Colombo and the community at Paladini produce much of their own food including chestnut flour, which is available for sale, try making a ‘neccio’ (chestnut flour pancake).
There is a fully equipped communal kitchen, camp fire, yoga platform and common area available to guests at all times.
You can hang out, cook and eat with other guests in these areas or stay in the privacy of your own pitch as you choose.
Our bathrooms include hot showers, or you can take in the view from one of our solar heated outdoor showers.
Our Chestnut Flour...
Paladini is a working chestnut flour farm.
We spend the autumn harvesting chestnuts which are then dried for 40 days and 40 nights in a traditional drying house known as a ‘metato’.
The nuts are then deshelled, cleaned and selected, brought to a water mill and ground into flour, the whole procedure taking approximately three months.
Ask us for various recipes involving this flour.
*chestnut flour is naturally gluten-free and therefore suitable for any type of intolerance
Accommodation
At Paladini You Can Rent:
Most people bring their own tent and sleeping equipment. Alternatively you can rent one of our four-metre Bell tents complete with wooden floor. Try out Rivendell, our treehouse suitable for maximum two people, suitable for anyone aged 12 and over. All pitches are min. 60 square metres and come with free electricity socket and drinking water outlet.

Adult price per night 18€
This includes bringing your own tent, free parking on the road above the campsite, tourist tax and free hot showers. There are no hidden costs.

Pets Free
Are welcome free of charge as long as owners assume full responsibility at all times.

Bell Tent +15€
You can rent one of our bell tents for an extra 10 euro per night per tent (max 4 people).

Rivendell Treehouse 60€
Try our treehouse total cost 60 euro per night for a maximum of two people suitable for adults or children aged 12 or over accompanied by an adult.
